Nachos

1. Fry onions on pan, when they turn brown, open a can of baked beans with mexican flavour/tomato sauce and pour the beans into the pan.
2. Add salts, chilli powder, spices (i like parsley and rosemary).
3. Serve with sour cream and grated cheese.
4. Eat it with corn chips.

Because I ate half of the corn chips a night before, so I fried some toasts with butter, and treated them as the corn chips in nachos.

Save the earth!

Get paid from saving the earth from pollution!!!! Payment starts from USD 0.01 per used can!!!!!

*This thingy have been around for few years; saw these two brand new can-recycled machine outside of the metro nearest to my hostel today*

Physiotherapy

I went to polyclinic today again, for my second physiotherapy session. I still have 3 more to go.

As i mentioned in my previous post, it's a machine will two 'plates' that were placed in front and behind of my shoulder/arm. I couldn't seem to find the equivalent treatment in English (i forgot what it's called in russian too, haha.); but should be something to do with magnetic that heals the sprained nerve/muscle.

oops, can't see the other magnetic plate in behind...

My visit to polyclinic

Story one:
I was very glad to meet the dentist who treated me 1.5 years ago in the polyclinic. For the n-th time, I thanked her again, and told her everything was great with me, life was so much better without toothache, haha.

She seemed very surprised. I bet she couldn't remember me, i was one out of a million of her patients; but she still showed some concerns, asked about my teeth, and so on.

I could see on her face, a satisfactory smile that I will never forget.

It may be just a small deed, or it was just her job to treat patients with toothache; but her good deed, did leave a foot print in my heart.

In fact, my mum told me her experiences as a nurse too. She works in maternity ward. Sometimes when she walks on the street, someone will just greet her and told her about his/her kids. My mum couldn't even remember whether she was the one who in charge of the kid; but, the parents, will hardly ever forget that, my mum gave them a big help, and they really appreciated it.

History review:
Before i came to Moscow in autumn 2006, i did a filling on my tooth in district dental clinic in my hometown. Few weeks later, just one day before i left for Moscow, i had a severe toothache. I couldn't chew, nor slept well. I just had the feeling and felt like using morphine or what to anaesthetise myself. !@#$!@##$@!, I reached Moscow on Saturday, so the dental clinic was closed, till the following Monday.

After two days of suffer (I took paracetamol for pain-relief coz i couldn't sleep properly for two nights, nor ate; i just drank porridge soup); I went to see her,the dentist on Monday. She found out that i had a defect filling on my tooth: in other words, the filling wasn't done properly, esp. it wasn't cleaned properly, so the remained bacteriae multiplied and lived anaerobically (without oxygen), and produced more and more acid).

The dentist took out 3 nerves from my tooth, and did a filling again. I still felt pain for a few days, but everything was ok after that; i couldn't feel any pain now since i had those dental nerves removed.

1.5 years later, today, I went to do my dental check up, everything was fine.

Thanks a lot!!!!

Story Two:

Finally, I decided to consult a neurologist. (yes, it's a polyclinic, all the departments are there,so i might as well just did dental check up too, as in "Story One".)

I had nerve pain for the first time in summer 2006; recovered somehow, recurred in winter 2007, recovered; and same thing happened again few months later, and relieved.....Totally sick of that, especially i couldn't really figure out what the heck was going on:

Possible causes:
1. Bad sleep: bad sleeping posture, bad pillow, bad mattress...which all lead to an improper sleeping posture/position, especially for a long time, it'll compress the nerve (including nerve compression near spinal cord as all the nerves are actually originated from spinal cord).

2. Wind + cold weather: somehow the wind will penetrate through the skin, and cause problems. And Cold weather, wind will lead to muscle or nerve becoming 'stiff'.

3. Trauma/ sports

Treatment:
1. Stop sleeping.........................in a bad posture.
2. I took NSAID, non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug; the one i took was Diclofenac Natrium.
3. Undergo physiotheraphy.
4. Wear warm and tight clothes.

Other advice:
1. do some exercises esp. when we maintain a same posture for a long long time (like stretching type, those that we usually do for warming up ourselves before sports.)
2. Yoga :D haha.

Anyway, i have got some video clips about protecting spinal cord from injury, exercises that relieve spinal cord pain, spine massage, etc....Will probably post them here later when i'm free.

World of Eric Khoo

I received a message from my friend Rasmus few weeks ago, "Eric, do you make movie???"as he received an email regarding movies production, and he saw my name "Eric Khoo" in it....

I thought he was just asking whether I am the director of my school production or something.

So I explained to him, that both Eric and Khoo are popular name, combination of Eric Khoo is also popular.

Anyway, some words about Chinese naming system. My name is Khoo Chee Khong, though i'm better known as Eric, which was my name since i was in my mom's womb. It's just more like a nickname, easier for people to remember.

Meanwhile, Khoo is my family name, or last name (some of my friends though last name refer to the last word of their name, such as for my name, Khong is the last name...Well, NO NO NO, last name refers to family name!) ;

Chee
, I would say it as an 'generation' name, though in modern Chinese society, it's very uncommon to name a kid based on the generation, nor did my parents, and it seems to me it's very common nowadays to name a kid with two character, i.e. family name+name, without 'generation name'. In fact, my generation name should be 'Nee' , i.e. Khoo Nee Khong, Nee corresponds to the 37th generation of the Khoo family) ;

And finally, Khong is my actual 'name', which means health in Chinese.

Today, out of curiosity, i wanted to find out how many 'Eric Khoo' could i get from Google.com.....

I was surprised to find Eric Khoo- wikipedia was on the first of the list....So i clicked :

Wow, it's true that there's another Eric Khoo from Singapore, and he's famous film director!!! His name is Eric Khoo Kim Hai (i translated his Chinese name into English because it's not mention in wikipedia.)

One day, I'm going to make myself as famous as he is :D

Ads ads ads...

Was this what you saw when you surfed my blog this morning?

Sorry about that. I was surprised what's going on actually, i subscribed to Advertlet.com 2 weeks ago, just right after i started blogging.

A friend of mine told me that the advantage of using Advertlet is that they pay you based on the number of visitors, rather than number of clicks on the ads. In fact, based on my friend's record, he has an average of 200 visitors per day, 6000 visitors per month. He put only one ad from advertlet.com, for 6 months, and he earned rm25+. Well, luckily he owns a blog just for fun, as a personal interest, rather than using it to earn money.

Anyway, i have to admit i'm a computer and technology-illiterate ; i just read it on someone's blog, that the domain name for advertlet.com has expired.
